Radio Vision is a dance that synthesizes a decade of ancestral research on Helen’s great grandfather, Hollywood music supervisor, Joe Gershenson, a conversation she had with Quincy Jones in 2018, and Nadia Boulagner’s impact on 20th century music. This work combines histories of film scoring, the origins of broadcast television, and trajectories in entertainment technology that led to mass media. Radio Vision uses epigenetics, oral history, fantasy, and memory to contextualize performance and entertainment over the past 100 years.
